12 degrees of separation this morning

12 degrees of separation this morning

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

12 degrees of separation this morning

a seldom loved heart

finds solitude in crowds

of briskly moving minds

that never understand the potency

of their shunning

the shear cunning of their ways

a seldom loved heart

suffers the duress

emotions undress

ride naked through the thoroughfare

with Godiva impetuousness

a consciousness

of detachment

the horse neighs to no one near

a seldom loved heart

clings to the saddle

riding into death

wearing nothing but a smile.

Desperational solitude at its best! But sometimes crowds have that potential to protect a diminishing light by their unfaltered sharing of hope. ....

I am inspired by your optimism in response to a painful and visceral description of loneliness
