I love the tone of this poem - even though it is about something that could be considered sad, there is an exciting dynamic feel to the poem. The tone and feel of the poem spoke to me more strongly than the subject matter, but the words are clever too - describing something that most people would identify with. I was attracted to the poem by the title. Candor isn't a word we use much in the UK, but it's a useful word and powerful in the context of your title.
Love is not two dimensional and that is the problem with it... But it's indeed an enticing journey.

Gentle, hard and direct words and thoughts Jacob. The poetry, like midnight thoughts we share alone. Thank you for sharing the amazing poetry my friend.

Your title is so well-crafted, it out-shines your poem a teensy bit! But your poem is surely emphatic about lost ardor & your candor couldn't be grander! Merry Christmas! (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie
