Coldly Toasty

Coldly Toasty

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

Coldly Toasty

Christmas stockings
hung with woe
stuffed with pandemic feelings
from head to toe

I wear it in my inside-out mind
feels safer
while suspended with you
on the fireplace

six-

feet--

a          part.

Ughhh, my wife was in such a bad mood all Christmas weekend, made me take all the lights and tree down the day after Christmas. Said she was Done!!!! That's after quarantining with the Covid (both of us ) for two and half weeks. I think everyone can identify to the nth!!!

i like the dramatic spacing in your closing .. I wanted the title to be Cold Turkey :))) .. for so many everything has been torn at the seams ... no family gatherings .. no work ... no TP ... and death ... all those businesses out of business and will not return .. at least as they were ... i have to make myself think about them as I have been immune in my more or less reclusive lifestyle ... NYC must seem a ghost town .. waiting for Zombies to appear ... without hope ... without Faith ... we truly will fail. I really like personifying the hung stockings ... a warm place but a cruel 6 feet apart ... for some 6 feet under :(

You turn a covid phrase like a well-honed virus. This has been the quietly isolated holiday many people won't forget! (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

Six feet of separation, tis mightily hard to pull a cracker, or if single anything :))
Has been a strange , strange year Jacob and looks like we are going to get much of the same next year. Where I love in the UK has, at this time, the highest infection rates. We're locked in, locked down, and going nowhere fast :))
Hope you are well.

"oooo what a lucky man, he was"
dearest Jacob.. waking up Christmas morning is
Toasty Cold ... the Sun has disappeared ... but embers of
Christmas Eve will stir the Dreams of yester year... when
we were oblivious to being sequestered in our own homes.
The Mistletoe Toe is still above waiting for Lovers to embrace
the Passion of Saving Grace. Keep Safe and Well ... our Doctor of
Philosophy... please take your 💊 Pill and lay your head on a
Pillow of Peace and Goodwill... tenderly, Pat
