This poem reminds me how we often consider a friendship/romance to be "palpable" during those stages with the titillation factor is high, but then later, when the more subdued & lasting qualities arise, we can sometimes take this part for granted (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

Lately, I've begun to view love as a virus, a pandemic that's been ravaging mankind for ages. It produces something intoxicating in us that initially feels euphoric, but later leaves us with withdrawal symptoms. We want to believe there's method in the madness, but I'm not sure anymore.
I like the mood you create in this poem: wistful, longing, tender.
