Liars and a missing day in December

Liars and a missing day in December

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

Liars and a missing day in December

it's a bullshit sun

and world,

and evidence

is stunning the flood

of

any given Sunday

with empty churches

and hearts

and words

sprung from outdated bibles

and Herald angels

squinting

at the Nativity scene

when Christmas dries up

one person gathers around a tree

gathers alone

it's a bullshit sun

i don't believe a word of it

i just see a cloud

hanging overhead

in Bethlehem's new silence.

Strip clubs are open but churches aren't. There's a lot of hypocrisy going around and the future's looking dark. The politicians and big tech would tax the sun if they could. Just my thought.

Yes, much hypocrisy, Relic....Much of it indeed.
thank you,

Strip clubs are open, at least we'll know where to find the clergy then :))
A powerful commentary in a poetic form on our current situation and events. Your voice speaks loudly the mayhem surrounding humanity. I'm hoping it is not signs of the end times, but it is pointing towards it. Wars and rumors of wars(They keep threatening Iran and other nations to keep them out of the nuclear club while they have thousands upon thousands of nuclear weapons to destroy the world many times over), famines, pestilences....Poverty is rampant, hidden enemy is prevalent...God help us. An excellent poem with so much truth.
I love everything you write sir..

Yes siiiirrrr. You know it.
This has been the hardest , dreariest, most trying, and most painful year for many many people the world over so I can totally understand your super clever sarcastic fantastic ranting poem. Yes churches have been empty and dead , and bibles outmoded for long since they were supposed to give way to the newest and latest in the series of abrahamic religion but there have been many many even recent converts to this newest that I follow.
So your cursing the sun is still poetically sound and sensational venting. Kudos!!

interesting .. some days are just like that .. a depression can settle over everything .. a pandemic .. clouded vision .. and of course hypocrisy and loss of Faith .. a bad day all around eh!?

Your lines are very bleak, and this has certainly been the bleakest year on record that I can remember. Christmas day, will be a lonely time for many as the virus continues. It will be a really sad time for those who have lost loved ones. I will try and remember what Christmas day is about, but my faith grows weaker by the year. There has been a huge cloud over this year, I am more optimistic about next year even though the economy is wrecked. We are resilient, we will come out of this and count our blessings.
