stay quiet

stay quiet

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

stay quiet

the enlightenment is awash

the wet world engages in

rinse, spinning the narrative

into definition

one comprised of weary words

played on a tape

over and over again,

the lip syncing is amazing

but then,

repetition

rote memory

forgetting about us

is all part of the process

we are the world

but his is a fractured replica

and he is cutting his teeth

on the pieces

infants tend to that behavior

when nursing an ego

but the blood of the people

is left in a vile vial.

political rhetoric and media spin bombard us. everyone wants their say in a broken world. maybe we would be better off if folks stopped acting like babies and just 'stayed quiet' while they worked on gluing things back together again. well said commentary on the state of affairs. it's always about what someone is going to do for us. action speak louder than words and inflated egos ... :)

Silence can give us limitations but also opportunity to hear our true voice. Your poem is like gentle prayer . Beautiful call to observe our soul in silence of unspoken words. Wonderful.

'Forgetting about us.. ' that is the thing they can do very well. All the best for this ongoing process.

dearest Jacob... a Poppy beside still waters will rest in the quiet places where love embraces the giving spirit of sacrifice. Romance blooms in
November’s nectar where hearts entwine on aged wine. Be still and hear the Whippoorwill.

I don't really have thoughts on the two contenders in your election, other than to say I don't envy your choice at the ballot box. I have noted the way the country is boarding up shop fronts in anticipation of violence regarding the eventual election victor, and that boggles the mind. It just shows how far from a peaceful democracy the states have become. Best of luck today and stay safe in the aftermath. 💛

Whoa! I love it. I think those who use propaganda filled with lies know that humans are swayed by them and know that they have that herd mentality to follow blindly this or that. People should do their homework and stick with the truth. Even politicians are becoming medical experts. Hehehe.
An excellent take sir on our pitiful, current affairs.

I believe this is a sad social commentary on the status of our "world" our country, with heinous threats from parts of it. we are, in part, being brainwashed with repetition by our leader who is "just a fractured piece of it";
an infant type behavior...with self adulation thrown in...and the rest of us are left in "vile vial"
excellent write Jacob. Yours, Betty

Could have said "shoot" but then George Carlin always said that was just "s**t" with two O's.
