You would think in times like these that people would show more support and be a bit more neighborly but in my experience it's been quite the opposite. The small things seem to have left the building.

I don't work anymore....I live off of my Pension, goof off, then read some poetry. But I remember the feeling of being so susceptible to working attributes that the analogy you offer here comes clear. love is depressed like the airline industry, cruise lines, hospitality, restaurants, movies, mall shopping, basketball viewership, football attendance. in fact, ask someone to come over then you realize that "over" is so 2019. "Love is scarce" in this poor, unforgiving economy. The analogy is so apropos.......dana

Thank you for your insightful words, dana...
I appreciate you, fellow poet.

A poetic comparison between love's poor economy & the economically crippled one, both jolted in the down direction by all that keeps us at odds these days, keeping love & prosperity at bay, with opportunities far far away (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

this economy sucks, It's going to just get worse, in my opinion if things don't turn around, but I feel it's not going too. I like our intriguing thoughts.
'.. firings of feelings .. take home pay a severed heart ..'
This is finely, cleverly but tragically worded, dear sir. Seems, like it or not, we need accept that Time ahead is going to be a long one. Can only pray that people behave logically, intelligently when at all possible. A depression has already eaten into global life, has for months.. begun by you know what. Our emotions are unfairly taxed by virtually every messy spur. But we need keep hope as close as close can be, don't you think, stand defiantly and manage.. somehow. As always your poetry speaks with understandable clarity, thank you.

dearest Jacob.. we voted yesterday... with free choice... to hear our voice echoed through our Land. I think of the 🎶 song... “this land is my Land... this Land is your Land”. Unfortunately, our duly elected Servants think that this is their Land. If only they would treat us as well as we provide them with much wealth and privilege.

The new order of covid will have a marked effect on everything. It is only the start. Economies will suffer, relationships will suffer and freedom is restricted. We are living in a straight jacket. The new great depression.
