dearest Jacob... this reminds me of the
Movie, "Shakespeare in Love" 1998 film starring
Gwyneth Paltrow and Joseph Fiennes as Shakespeare.
I adore that Movie. Your love poetry is surreal and
delicately conveyed. truly, Pat

Did you add Henry to the name because Viola was a girl posing as a “Guy” ?
I brought two feral kittens into our two-story home. They live only in the lovely Sun Room off the family room. They have a large Oak table to view through the paneled glass French doors and watch us come and go and vice versa. I stay busy keeping them clean. The are both fixed. The are great Buddies. One is a Siamese Mix named Snowflake, but I call him “my bad boy”, and the other is a Tabby with green eyes, named
Eliza Clover Doolittle... first named Clover ‘cause of the green eyes and then she reminded me of Eliza in My Fair Lady.
People who communicate with Cats are like the movie “Bell Book and Candle“ with Kim Novak ... It is almost Halloween .. lol

Wonderful lines. On reading a few times it came across as an email type poem for a lover( another poet) where more detail is said written on the observational thinking between the poets. Well something like that! lol.
Perfect understanding here Jacob. Between you and your muse, I believe. You take what she gifts you and work with it. At least I think it is your muse. Nice piece. Mine is not at all understanding :)
"keyboard lashes gently brush my cheek" what a great line! Ah, to have a muse that writes the words....the romantic words....so easily. Your romantic writes are still my favorites. Lydi**

love the title ... we all could practice it a bit more eh!? ;) and awwwwwwwwww the poet is in love!!! :) i especially like the "keyboard lashes" and the writing "..against the backdrop of your eyes" ... so intimate and reflective of an honest effort to understand the other .. beautiful says i! "Intellection" is the kind of love that does the work and lasts longer ... peace out brother!

A muse is so fickle...she flirts, ignores and retreats. Lands us in predicaments yet always remains the pulse within our pens, the backdrop, in the beauty of which we create. A lover is also a worthy muse.
Sounds like a really close relationship. I think here the poet speaks to his muse rather than to some external being. Yes, it is extremely nice when she offers you her poem; makes up for all the times she was moody and silent.
