poets not welcomed at the Country Club

splash the page with garrulous gerunds

it's the "ing" of Things

subjects, objects

parallel universes

we all live in a prepositional state

going down, up, into, on

and then out

i prefer poeming

to golfing,

and i don't have to worry about tee times

just the placing

of my gerunds

any time

within the "ing" of Things...

Poeming is a lovely word there. It feels as nice as it reads. No wonder you love it better than golfing and it can be done in our pjs with no bother about tees. And rhyming is double fun. So its a win win situation for poets!

My pleasure always, my friend.
I had to look that word up too.
I prefer poems to golf too but you never struck me as one for rhyming

That's very true. :) and you're welcome!
I cannot fathom your self doubt as a poet Jacob when I read such clever writing. I had to look up 'gerund' and as always learn from the teacher! This says so much about society and the contentment of the protagonist not to participate in such archaic social structures. Now if you were a woman it might be a double whammy!

I prefer poem writing to golfing any day and I certainly would not play bingo. I'd rather be lost for words with a poem full of holes and little meanINGS
