A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

karma

commercialized, homogenized, harmonized

voices thrive in the cafe,

pure streaming coffee served with consonance

live sugars tossed into poetic cups

the words, the words, the words

stirred,

danish served with dissonance

apricot jam served with assonance

i am but a pasteurized version

of a poet's dream.

Whatever you write Jacob is tasty like this breakfast served poem and I hope from a fine Jacob's hotel. Continental, intercontinental with different types and tastes. I can see the good view from your hotel Jacob where souls enjoy nature's offerings and yours.

Coming from you is an honor. Bless you sir. I hold you in high esteem. Thank you again.
I am afraid I must disagree with you on this one Jacob. Tis, as always, a poem with impact in its analogous wisdom but you, sir, are the furthest from sterile as a poet as it is possible to get.

I believe your poem is written tongue-in-cheek, not meant to be a serious slam to the various formulaic trends found here at the cafe, however I caught a little different drift. My impression of the cafe -- mostly a block of well-established writers who each have their own niche way of presenting many of the typical topics that get written about time & again. I feel like a misfit among this crowd, since I hardly ever write about the stuff that most writers write about. This is what I feel as a wall of "commercialized, homogenized, harmonized voices" at the cafe. I love your snappy wordcrafting here! (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

Nay, not pasteurized, just not yet discovered, which inly purifies and legitimizes your words :)

thank you, Cherrie...for your kind words,

Thank goodness those words are not spoken with the same voice. Different ways to look at things mean different ways to write. Each has something to offer and each can be interpreted as we see fit.

The only cafe to sit and share opinions without the necessity of raising voices or egos ... and socially distant as well.

Exactly, Ted...we are all different voices, and all are just as legitimate as the next.
