when beginnings find endings

when beginnings find endings

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

when beginnings find endings

fraud ensues

accompanied by deceit

a liar's penchant

the pendant around his neck

the noose of lies getting tighter

she waits in the house

assured that he will eventually

come home

with a lipstick conscience

gnawing at his bones.

Ah, the little Muse waiting patiently for the writer to return from his journey knowing that what he has experienced can't be knowingly turned into poetry without admitting he has been unfaithful. Lipstick stains on the conscience are more telling than those on the collar...only he knows what transpired...only he will suffer from his actions.

Good write j.
I like it.

He’ll keep returning with that lipstick conscious and she’ll keep taking him back. It’s a dangerous situation. He knows she knows. It’ll end eventually, when one or both of them finds a proposition better than this charade.

Always happy to read you, my friend :)
Most would say she was dumb or a victim...but she feels triumphant when he walks through that door. She feels her worth when the handle turns or when he finally settles beside her. she is the comfort, she is salvation, she is love. She hopes and dreams that shes teaches a lesson, even when some of us are slow learners or underachievers.
