The plight of the poet...having someone you care for read your poem and tell you they really like it...but there is always that doubt that asks what are they thinking...is this bit good or crap...if only I could see it through their eyes, I'd know the truth of how my poem reads.
We are a group with a definite confidence issue.

Wow! I followed you through this almost like an out-of-body experience. I have studied film and thoroughly enjoyed the concept of perception, and the gaze. How we all wish we could reverse the gaze, see ourselves through the eyes of others. To bring the world of poetry into this, through your poem, and to contemplate your own psychology through this is so clever. I wish I had thought to write something like this!
