A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

slim sliding away

factual spandex
stretches the truth
but the outline of the lie
shows the weight of conscience

Perfect! This is what I came to see alL right. There is no need to say anything more about a poem which speaks so loudly.

Got that tune humming in my mind now.
Spandex, truth, lie, conscience.
Got Trump written all over it, well, apart from the conscience that is.
This impeachment lark is there a chance.

This is a wonderful sugarplum that might be construed as satirical metaphor. Sugarplums add to the weight as well I guess. :) Always a pleasure to read your words.

Kept singing slip sliding away Jacob. Clever lines which made me smile. That spandex can hide a whole load of cake eating :)) it doesn't ease the conscience or the good intentions though :)
