Isn't just nuts how sometimes something comes in the midst of night and you just have to get up and write it down??!! This poetry stuff can drive you nuts!!!

Arise and write. I love how you have emphasised by repetition exactly what us writers experience and frequently. Those lines tend to slide into our memory while we have our heads on pillows awaiting sleep. Of course, we do not sleep because those lines or ideas will be gone in the morning. We will not remember them unless we record them on paper or computer. Very relatable Jacob. Beautiful work.
There are many times when a thought or idea hits me in the middle of the night. One has to capture it immediately or it is gone. You understand this feeling; your poem expresses it beautifully.

You're welcome. I'm sure we've all had the same experience.
I love your poem as a way to show how strong the urge to write can be . . . no use lying in bed trying to sleep . . . it's gotta come out! The repetition of a well-crafted declaration makes this feel like a rallying cry for following the muse's insistence (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

I understand exactly what this affair with your strange lover is like! Tiring, consuming, very frustrating at times, but beautiful and absolutely worth it.

A lot of what I write comes from dreams but my best work comes with my eyes closed and listening to music. Music is what gets me through the restless nights. So with music, I'm typing blindly and waiting for that soft touch to my shoulder of the one that will come for me one day. I know there is a lot more inside my noodle waiting for their turn to surface. I find it a blessing that I'm able to arise and write. God bless you, j.

dear Jacob... we have good intentions... and as we dream...
there could be answers. There is a moody sky and threats of
stormy weather, however, we will endure when the light shines through.
My father told me towards the end of his life, "Remember when days
are dark and dreary, it is just the shadow of an angel's wing watching

How blessed we are to arise and write. Creativity is a gift bestowed. Even if it does not hit the mark of perfection, it is still good and worthy. You are worthy sir.
