What a lovely idea, dreams exploding to fruition.
Education comes in as many forms as success can be measured, I suspect.
None of the important lessons have ever been about money.
I rejoiced in reading this delightful poem you have created. The descriptive words you have put in there with the slight rhyme added made it even more fun to read. I loved it!
Money can't buy love, or indeed anything which can truly make a person feel wealthy. It can:t buy happiness, gratitude or contentment. Those feelings come from within, All the money in the world some have and yet they lead lives of loneliness and misery. Give of yourself, kindness in my opinion is such a wonderful attribute, because kind people are loved.
Investments of the self are part and parcel of the investments of the mind. As you wonderfully state good poet is that money can't buy real knowledge, real understanding, real humility. It must be worked on with the utmost diligence. Also, those character builders can be higher learning that material earnings.
This poem has a lot of wisdom in it. You are wise indeed sir Jacob.
As I read this, my memory instantly recalled a favourite tutor of mine. He had both the time and the patience to nurture and encourage his students; and even now his influence remains; and so for me;
The high and selfless task of knowledge shared
compares the same, or better yet,
to that which paper money cannot buy.
For it is there where higher learning truly lies,
to make the time to educate with love and care,
and know solace, contentment there.

One of the great joys of reading poetry, is in the interpretation.
Wonderful! What an opening stanza.................to merge the ideas of the famous 'penny' idiom with the image of coins in a wishing well is a master stroke. And the whole poem with its message is simply top drawer.
Far to many folk are a wrapped up in their " me, me, me" bubble with nowt in mind but to grab as much as they can as quickly as they can.
Seems their is no love they neighbour, good samaritan, compassion, empathy as all strive to feather their own nest. It's sad to witness.
Good morning Jacob, hope you and the cat are well :))
