The more they talk, the less they say ... and what they do say makes little sense. A snippet of truth stretched to fill the void is all we get ... that and hot air.
The only item left to bargain with is the soul and it is torn asunder and dispersed among the shadows, and still they stand there telling us they know best.

A good bit, j.

Well it is my estimation that the issue set forth requires further remuneration and if you asked me my opinion why I, say did I mention that’s a very fine hat good sir, I once had a hat like that or was it my father? But to your point... where was I, oh yes it was my grandfathers hat that looks like yours and yes it is funny how old things become new again indeed! a fine point you have made well look at the time I must be off you sure do know how to pick a mans brain good sir thank you for the fine clarification pin the subject

Lies do take the long way home to the truth. Short and sweet is often a more truthful route. A lot said in those three short lines, Jacob. Lydi**

Haiku style and brevity... you said a lot with just three lines.
I think we women like long-winded explanations when we don't know what to say.

Given the current political atmosphere, circumcision of truth might be too mild. How about castration?

Sounds like a condemnation of this world . . . for to me it speaks of a world gone wacky in its attempt to deceive just about everyone with its lies and truth denying gamemanship. Interesting piece in its brevity and multiple meanings.

Life can seem like that viewed from certain angles. I don't know if we create or fabricate our own reality some times. Great work in brevity, Jacob:)

J., this reminds me of the scavenger hunts I often take when reading long poems, trying to find what's buried within, what the writer won't say directly, but leaks onto the page. Somewhere in each poem we find truth and often a few lies, if we cut away the superfluity.
