an air of gratitude

an air of gratitude

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

an air of gratitude

blistered emotions

over and over

the scabs

remind me of her cutting

remarks

abrasive ascension

to another plane of disrespect

leaving me grounded

healing

on my own

then blissfully reemerging

a pilot of discretion

flying solo

through clouds of reinstatement

i am human, again

soaring against an azure sky

a deeply contented blue.

Who says words can't hurt? Some people really know how to twist the verbal knives and this work seems to describe a virtuoso in that dark art. By poem's end, however, she seems to have receded into the past enough to permit recovery. If a lesson has been learned, it is to be a "pilot of discretion."

I do agree. Healing is vital for many things. Acceptance of the reality, healing potions and moving on are criteria for the welfare of the injured. One must value the self, cleanse the heart from negativity and proceed cautiously to a better future never giving up.
It is very important to understand not to give power over us from someone who does not deserve it anyway. You are always marvelous sir Jacob...

You are welcome sir Jacob.
This is simply great, J.
Your metaphorical description painted the picture of the thoughts behind it well and clear.
I love it.
