axles and intermittent rain

axles and intermittent rain

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

axles and intermittent rain

stigma,

marks on the neck

unholy roller

stares that penetrate the skin

burning hot nova

sunshine thwarted by black moon

where you were last night

is where i wanted to be

but i do wish

for silence

stigma,

blanket soiled with sin

love done

then undone

virgin wheels

punctured

now she can't move forward.

That first stanza made me think of love bites. Those tell tail signs that give away what you've been up to the night before. Some would try and hide them out of guilt and shame, others would wear them with a source of pride. There is plenty of stigma here, a blanket soiled with sin, lost virginity. Those words took me back many decades. I doubt if nowadays this behaviour would make a ripple on a pond. Great writing Jacob. Mustn't forget the mention of cars either.
