Flowers with Purpose

Flowers with Purpose

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

Flowers with Purpose

when fingers blossomed into poetic response

and the tapping of keys created a love song

in sonnet wonder,

Shakespeare's ghost

wandered into the room to listen

smile softly

and recede back into his theater of mind

knowing his influence

had played to

sold out shows

long after his final

quill rested with him

in sepulchered splendor

next to Romeo and Juliet.

Are there really enough superlatives in describing him?

Not my most favourite of scribblers.. maybe due to the expectations of the examining board when I was at school... but still ya gotta give credit where credit is due, don'tcha..... Nice one sir..

To have you pull Shakespeare out of his grave, once again, is like
conjuring the greatest of magic. I feel touched by this piece.

Thank you, jacob

My pleasure!
To hear your words resonate in others come to life through others understanding must be truly the sweetest moment for a writer. I just hope that when the earth is habitable again after our inevitable armageddon, that distant visitors, coming across evidence of us, find Shakespeares work and not mine, or they will conclude earth was a mental institution.
In sepulchred splendour? I'm jealous of that Jacob. Damn! Wish I thought of that😀

Shakespeare's ghost would smile...lay down his quill...with a self-satisfied grin for Kit Marlowe...and say
"What do you think, Chris, Romeo and Juliet eh. Top that."

Shakespeare in Love was a fun movie that gives us a glimpse into the life of a genius.

Has any writer had a bigger impact on literature?

Good write, j.
