Infestation

Infestation

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

Infestation

tiny little fleas

my memories of you

the collar of naivety

tightened

but then wisdom sprayed

itself upon my infested heart

and finally,

i was flea free

and ready for tea

with another

knowing i had shed the collar

and could love

without having to constantly

scratch the past.

thank you, kescha,

itchy write. very creative. i quite enjoyed this sans the scratching. great metaphor. the title alone made me squirm in my seat, let alone the words and imagery. strongly disturbing and uncomfortable. thankfully we have RAID spray and exterminators for the outward. now if we could just get those for the inward ... :)

yes, for the inward, i agree...thank you, Pete, appreciate your visit and words,
j.
The light rhyme of this is truly lovely, and I like the metaphor of it.
