Fight

Fight

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

Fight

a flurry of

verbal jabs

knocked me out

i'm on the canvas

looking up,

at you

smiling in your corner.

I love it when a few well placed words can turn a conversation around. We need more fiery words to knock us out these days. Good one, j.

thank you, CD...appreciate your words on this not so popular piece...

I felt the pain here from that knock out blow. The smile from the corner rubbed salt into the wounds. Great metaphor.

Verbal assaults can cause lasting damage.

I really love this one, I would use this as a textbook example of what a good short poem is. imagery, purpose and all with just twenty words. The foundation of the western poetic tradition we inherited from the greeks. It's competitive beauty like sharks on the hunt.

Good morning Jacob. In the corner stands a boxer.................Another great metaphorical write. Short and sweet, pithy even, but with a terriffic punch!
