folding Laundry

folding Laundry

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

folding Laundry

i find you disturbing

your heart abrasive

your touch raw and baffling

my mind a dryer

tossing and turning

emotions

i find you disturbing

my heart reluctant

i touch you discreetly

pensively

but then those wrinkles

iron out

when i realize

you are part of my cycle

and exactly what i need.

Any warmth from the dryer will help smooth out those wrinkles long before the iron finishes the job.

Sounds like this laundry cycle turned out better than expected. A surprise result.

Like this one Jacob.

thank you, Chris,

Having folded so much laundry in my day (I started out as a nurse) I get this one. Allegory to die for as the protagonist agonises about the character of his intended but reaches the conclusion that this is as smooth as it gets!
