Blimps and raw sewage

Blimps and raw sewage

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

Blimps and raw sewage

the sewage has stench

the judge sits on his bench

picked by an illegitimate son

who sits on his perch

flapping his winged tongue

nesting in elaborate spaces

making fun of all the colored faces

that don't match his complexion of things

and what chaos his flight brings

the blimp overhead tries to photograph

the blimp below

with his toupee blowing in the wind

i apologize Bob for i have sinned

putting you in the same poem room

as him...

goodbye everyone

i have swallowed pills to pass on to another dimension

since there is a pill in this one

impossible to swallow

my sense of smell is thwarted

the supreme court of angels

is out of session

it's a mad mad world

and we're all in it

have you seen the photographs?

they are too real.

It is all very dystopian and bad dream at present. Enough powerlessness to go around for all of us. It is hard to see where we will finally end up, but, if we look to history it does not seem hopeful.

An excellent farcical take on current times. Sometimes all we have at our disposal is the power to make power seem ridiculous. There are so many things coming at us right now, that it is difficult to know where to focus. Your poem, in its dance, makes me feel that keenly. It puts me in mind of The Trial in The Wall...something about the chaos and the need to escape it.

Excellent take on a difficult collection of subjects.

thank you for your understanding and insightful words, Eilis...

Can't say I've ever ridden in a blimp...but I know more than enough about raw sewage...and there seems to be more than enough coming out of Washington to last a lifetime. As an outsider...my dad was a yank as was his family, so I have an inkling of the disaster that has become the American political system. The divisiveness that permeates politics worldwide is breathtaking.
But it would be disingenuous of me to suggest that Canada's is any better...run by a former drama teacher with very little experience who also struggles with image...although I haven't see a blimp of him...yet.

It's a sad situation that struggles to suggest it will change anytime soon.
A good write, j.

Trump writ large and his blimp! Indeed I guess he is not the only politician past present or to come who feeds the system in their own ways. Who manipulates appointments and uses the press and their office inappropriately. Wonderfully reflected in this rather vitriolic piece Jacob!

Dreaming, are you dreaming, but it all seems real? These lines come across as a nightmare which features your worse fears in technicolour. A political slant here. People in authority whose morals are really questionable. Injustice, sleaze, and there is no faith in the Almighty to salvage the situation. We live in a rotten stinking world. If that wasn't bad enough, your muse appears to be fixated on finding rhyme at the moment. That just tops the lot eh Jacob? Smiling at the rhyme my friend even though the content is bleak.
