lovely representation of the domino effect. We as people are thoroughly predictable. we make the same mistakes over and over again, and are surprised it comes to the same ending. we skip like a broken record till someone else mows us down. How terribly ironic.

We are a selfish species. Someone always has to be right or wrong in everything. I hope your not a landscaping prophet, J. Thoughtful work. Great metaphors.

My heart dropped when I read this and I hope beyond all hope that we are not on that pathway to complete extinction. The violence is wide spread, there is much unrest, but then you need to go back and find the root of the problem. Much of it rests with total inequality. When you have the majority with nothing and the few who own virtually the whole lot, you have to start asking some questions. Luxury against squalor, not a good recipe for peace when there is no balance. That's where you took me Jacob.

wow, thank you for that Chris...
i probably don't have much choice, do i?
A dark and sombre piece in an allegorical free verse that explores nature in metaphor to human kind and our sins. It gives the sense that there is no hope as we gallop toward armageddon.
dear Jacob... our man who mows our large front yard... thinks he is a
Bull fighter driving our Troy-Bilt riding mower. He thinks he is reshaping
History, but it is only Grass burnt by the Sun... now there is only dirt.
If no one is watching him, he drives the Riding Mower over the Ditch where
water collects, although we explicitly asked him to not do that. It is difficult
to tell a former NFL football player how to treat a riding mower. Presidents
should not Tweet... and he is not a former football player as far as we know.
truly, Pat
