i write short poems

about seductive advances

and passion induced states

of the heart

 

i write long poems

about seductive advances

and morbid states

crushed heart

coffin alliances

with stone cold mates

decomposing rhyme

 

i write epic poems

no i don't,

but i want to

 

i just need to find the right state

of mind

and let the heart go.

Do you really want to write an epic poem? I always remember the alliterative phrase my English Professor in college shouted at us, "Keep the poetry pithy, people....if you want to be published." The heart and mind must be in sync for good poetry whether short, long, or epic. Seems to me you have that down pat, my friend. Lydi**
