"now i feel the rope burns as i dangle in disbelief" what a great line! If Emily Dickinson could write from the grave, she WOULD write about you, Jacob. Indeed, a dead heart is the inspiration for so many poems. A little different from you...I like it. Lydi**

Lost love Jacob leaves the heart dead, although you will always have Emily. She can't hurt you from the grave. You will always have your love of Emily. She has to be your favourite poet when you write about her like this. i need to read more of her.

I love Emily's poetry...my favorite poet. And Emily Dickinson never really had a physical love, but she admired and loved many of the old famous poets...she fantasized.

I read Emily Dickinson for the fist time tonight and she blew me away. Her story is interesting and I intend reading the whole of it. This piece once more, more than does justice to this icon of American poetry. In this piece you have woven sadness in a eulogy and I hope the dead heart is indeed hers and not yours Jacob!
she is my favorite poet ever, John...thank you for this review,

Yes, it is. I was reading her yesterday. Wouldn't it be nice to see and hear her recite some of her poems? I think her accent would be better than the woman on 'Pearls of wisdom.' haha
Good one, Jacob.

Eulogies for love...eulogies for life...are there eulogies for Death?
We can go on thinking everything is fine...then that one sentence knocks us down...shoulders slump...knees grow weak...and all the shared mementos have no substance no matter hard we cling to the past.
Emily has been...and gone...but her words still echo from the grave.
thank you for your insight, Ted...and she will never die for me....my favorite poet...
