Even tho your poem is about the quietness of another person & you express yourself in tones of quiet, overall, this poem has a frisky friendly eagerness that reminds me of how dogs (my favorite companions of all time) make it okay to have no words, but still, so many feelings are so clear (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie
my favorite line, "the silence that is you." This is a beautiful love for someone. A person that you can be yourself around and not have to fill a silent moment with weightless words.

“the silence
that is you.”
Wonderful lines here, Jacob. Not many of us acknowledge the serenity of a peaceful love, but it is what makes us believe in love in the first place. The people who are as comfortable with each other as with silence, define true love. Toxic relationships lack this sense of feeling and are thus, doomed.
deaf caves or deaf ears? perhaps they're the same.
my favorite line is : the quiet is disarming. i think this is the main conflict of the story. the previous creek a'bubblin is rising emotion to get to this point. it's not about caves or bats, this is a love story: wide awake at a smile in darkness of silence of sleep. dude, you're smitten :) i think you should wake her up.you "hear love", bro i've never been more jealous in my life!
amazing write. thanks for sharing. sorry for my possibly absurd interpretation. i read too much into things :/

i really like your interpretation, Mondaine, and no interpretation of poetry is absurd...once the wr.. read morei really like your interpretation, Mondaine, and no interpretation of poetry is absurd...once the writer lets the poem be read, it belongs to the readers, not the poet.
thank you for where you took this,

I kept thinking Silence is Golden. It certainly can be. My mind was going all over the place Jacob with these lines. The quiet was almost deafening. Don't ask me why, but I kept coming back to poetry and writerscafe :)) And then of course there are other places I went to.
