A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

welcome to my world of poetry

gibberish is my goal

i fear interpretation of my work

because then readers will be wading into shallow waters

while i wait for positive returns

as in a popular election

i would rather confuse them with my rhetoric

write like an acrobat in mid-air

aloof, over the heads

safer from the cliff

no one will attempt to climb high enough

to understand me

and know that i have been faking it

all these years,

and my writing is nothing more

than ink stained tears

that dry before i can create

enough of a clouded camouflage

to misdirect them.

I will only look at this as a work of fiction told well. Your work is anything but gibberish and each final line ends with a boom. :)

Although I find lost love and rejection to be frequent themes in your work, I cannot believe this one is autobiographical. Your poetry comes across as personal and conversational, like that of many modern poets, but I see nothing deceptive or confusing about it.
