Your poem causes me to long for the good ole days when I didn't overthink my romantic & sensual inclinations. Sometimes it can be as simple as making each other feel good & not weighing that down with expectations. I love the way the ending forgives our foolishness (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

I bet no one thought of the impending detentions.Their road was filled with good intentions. The sense of doom here is building up nicely. Someone is going to get found out. Young love eh?
A song springs to mind,"Secret love.." Doris day I believe. 'When the conspiracy is uncovered...'Thank you for bringing to the fore the chances taken in unsolicited love.

James Cagney...one of my favourite actors and such a great villain...not a bad dancer either.
careless lovers seldom make good drivers...could never understand 'keep your eyes on the road, your hands upon the wheel'. But the road to Hell was paved with good intentions until the sun went down and it was every man for himself until 'our goose was cooked and her reputation was shot'.
Oh how things have changed!!!
A good write, friend.

Yes careless love is an innocent love somewhat ephemeral, the moment beautiful until the sun rises and the spell is broken and one longs for that reconnection.
