the truth of windows

the truth of windows

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

the truth of windows

the laughing draft

chills my soul's window

the glass frosting

from your indifference

i smiled through that glass once

and could almost touch you

through the pain

but you pulled the shades

and the sunlight hid its heart.

Your imagery is beautiful and heartbreaking. Indifference hurts deeper than anger or tears.

Guess there can be more than Christmas in July. And more is not always better. At least you can have all the bad socks you want to wipe that frost from the window. A convenient indifference.

A pleasure as always.

poignant slap in the face ... giving it a go your protagonist smiles ..Maybe????? but no ... and the sun goes out :( a Charlie Brown character ... never quite gets up ... funny thing tho .. I have never met anyone that does not like Charlie Brown ;) deeply painful write says i! pushes some off the cliff ..

All good thanks. Just off out with the pooches.
How does rejection feel? It feels like thick frost on a window pain. Light filters through, but you can't see the sun. You could spare a kiss but your lips would freeze against the glass.
Looking into a window could make you a pervert...looking out could mean agoraphobia and you're an introvert...I guess, either way, you're a vert.
Sometimes all you can do is drop the blinds.

Take care friend.

A large glass, colour doesn't matter.
Feels like it pulls from the depths of the types of worlds, Through the Looking Glass, came come...
A haunting stage, windows and frost...
Always such an incredibly powerful image
Does the sun thaw, or is it another glass-wall...
So chilly...
