SoldierA Poem by jacob erin-cilbertoSoldier
covert covenant a love fitting for spies of war, the lines of battle
prevent solidarity among
comrades of passion sides sidled and a smile will carry
me like a stretcher over the hills of
indignant chatter wounded skin from your
touch injured heart on life
support pull the plug and kiss
me one last time before my final breath
is executed and the armistice i find
in your scent when it is lying with
me, as the helicopter's
wings carry me to an imagined
heaven. erin-cilberto 7/5/19 © 2019 jacob erin-cilbertoReviews
