CourtingA Poem by jacob erin-cilberto
disgruntled
voices grimace at the sight of
incontinent words written on their ears by scatter brained
detectives on a cold case searching clues of
leftover sanity in a world that has
become a crime scene love, peace, equality
all murdered a hate crime of misguided passion for the green by the mean with the means to wrap their words
eloquently in slight of mind tricks we speak in battered
tongue poems of bleak vestige we are witnesses and victims all at once and no jury will
convict because the high-profile
lawyers they can retain will pilfer a not guilty
verdict from the connected
twelve who are now trapped in their own gold world ignoring the evidence of a vast imbalance. erin-cilberto 6/30/19 © 2019 jacob erin-cilbertoReviews
