A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

specifically in random pursuit

i am elsewhere at the moment

so don't look into my eyes

you will see clear glass

with nothing on the other side.

i would like to be here

but she isn't,

so i am everywhere but where

i want to be

and if the eyes really are the window of the soul

mine is somewhere weeping

somewhere creeping

into that dark cavern of memory

and there,

it will stay

for a moment or two, or three or four

wherefore art thou?

forever near

&

forever there,

where i want to be.

How often this happens.... a million times, each and every time we are physically in one place and emotionally in some other place looking at moments frozen in time , longing to revive and bring them back to present.loved this perfect portrait of wistfulness.
