Love that opening stanza! I think it describes so well the feelings of dissociation and depersonalisation we feel at times of trauma. You have cornered the market on lost love and pining Jacob. No one can touch your amazing collection of allegory.
Wow, Jacob! I so relate to this one. Sometimes the mind wanders so far off, the eyes can not grasp the emotion. The longing in this poem is powerful. The "dark cavern of memory" can be a blessing or a curse. This is one of my favorites from you. Lydi**
It is so true that being truly "present" with someone who as Gertrud said so well . . . "The there is just ain't there." How about anther cliche? "It takes two to tango." Or . . . " a bird in hand is worth two in the bush." Okay, I'll quit! Oh . . . and as you put it . . . "Where art thou? Interesting poem my friend.

Yes occupying the mind when the heart and mind have an agenda of their own which doesn’t work out their way as intended in a classic case “ it takes two to tango! A bruising affair!
the use of oxymorons are really well executed here, the title of the piece is so intriguing and upon reading it, it makes complete sense
the structure compliments the train of thought of the narrator and that feeling of being elsewhere from what gives you essence and makes you whole, that other person or entity existing in a place you are not
i really enjoyed this!
Thoughts pondering on the past while living in the present. Yes, sometimes it would be so nice to wind the clock back and live those memories again for real. I bet most people have moments like that.
