the bookends of life and deathA Poem by jacob erin-cilberto
tambourines
rattle like the conclusion of a
diamondback stories within the
swiveling body of paragraphs slither here and yon the music of turning
pages and spinning minds the eyes the windows
through which we gaze in amazement at minds as
creative as the venom of themes that cuts
through our inquisitive skin there is no better death than the poison of
knowledge we die just a little
smarter and the prologue blurs as the reading lamp's
light wanes with our dying vision. erin-cilberto 2/28/19 © 2019 jacob erin-cilbertoReviews
