still life's pulse

still life's pulse

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

still life's pulse

intimate thoughts blush

your skin reflected in my eye's imagination

i draw pictures on the canvas of my heart

portraits of a love

(I’ve yet to meet)

In fondly, measured breaths of my brush.

Ah, drawing pictures on the canvas of the heart - this makes it my favorite love poem by you, Jacob. And I think imagination is the greatest gift one can have, keeps us from missing their presence, even if in a small way...Beautiful imagery here.

Aloha jacob, this is just lovely. I actually thought of the song IF by Bread While reading. There is a note of longing that hint of bitter sweetness, that for a second it almost feels like a quiet seduction (just for a second though). Perhaps the realization that she will forever exist in brush strokes/words is the artists fate. Beautiful piece.

Ah, that fantasy lover that lies just beyond the next corner. We can paint her/him with our words, but we can not bring them to life. The canvas of your heart holds beautiful concepts, my friend. Lydi**

a poem that captures away to pain imagery of pictures but in words what a fascinating idea, short but the point is very clear.

If only we could paint our lives and make our desires and dreams real. It's the human need for connection (and not the kind the cell phone sellers tell us we need!) Again, your romantic slip is showing!

The ideal dream partner may appear as a representative of the qualities we desire to inculcate. An imaginative metaphorical portrait of a beautiful person or a peaceful personality denotes the peace and calm you crave if real life seems empty. Great imagery here Jacob; plenty to reflect and ponder upon in each stanza... great write...

This is quite lovely Jacob. I sense and feel so much warmth and yearning in your words. Anticipation of something yet to happen yet wanted. Beautifully conveyed lines.
