Round

Round

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

Round

sparse implosion

on the outside,

cheeks turn rose

fists clench,

she's gone

and on the inside

i am in the corner

pleading for them

to stop the fight.

The boxing allegory seems so appropriate here Jacob. Rounds and rounds of sparring with the child cowering in a corner until the bell and the 'loser' leaves the ring, defeated.

thank you for your words, John,
j.
This reminds me of the fights my parents had when I was young. Horrible stuff. If I could do life all over again but had to go through that...forget it.
