but who's watching them

but who's watching them

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

but who's watching them

sordid smiles

the monster within

often conquered, rears its ugly head

once again,

the giant eye of hypocrisy

a cyclops of abandonment

people are consumed

by its unwillingness to concede

to accede to proceed

without obliterating feet

paws,

claws

or clauses

to intervene with heart

a be the necessary part

of the solution

it is meant to be...

At times we feel we have overcome our sorrows but really they are buried in shallow graves waiting like old black and white movie monsters to rise from the dead and consume us again. Pain is difficult to conceal unless we have an effective, long term analgesic. Another wonderful write full of emotion and imagery and dressed in metaphors.
