dear Jacob... your poetry has a touch of antiquity of a vintage rose pressed between the chapters of your life.... may your Valentines fall softly from the tree of romance. truly, Pat

You are so right, we must enjoy the moment while it exists. How long will it be there to have? If we are to save it then we can only save it as a memory, hopefully a fond one.
This one seems to address the fleeting nature of beauty. Verse 1 speaks of the ephemeral nature of gardens and roses and moments of dancing in "naked moonlight." Verse 2 speaks metaphorically of pressing such moments between pages so the experience will be remembered long after mortal things have passed. The poem generally makes the point that the most precious things are those which are beautifully temporary and make lovely memories. Well done.
I like that the "engagement" can be more than a brief encounter, that the experience is preserved in memory, yes, but too the possibilities of continuation exist as well from such reflections.... besides, I am a romantic and have always liked the idea of dancing in the moonlight naked... my girlfriend/1st wife dared me to do this once at her family's farm in the dead of winter... being in love I did this and was treated to a wonderful kiss, some hot chocolate and a very warm blanket.... lol...
sorry Jacob, I am always amazed at where I go with your poetry, as I am sure you are more thinking of apples and summer than a polar vortex... anyway, your poetry often makes me feel alive, even if it is just a memory...
