Extreme cold weather up your way, saw images of Chicago. Equally we are experiencing a heat wave having had 47.7C in Adelaide. How the winds of change be it cold change the axis of the affairs of the heart.
Watching the weather reports it's easy to see that you certainly know the affects of the North wind on the body. You speak of the it's effect on the heart, in love. How shattering to feel the icy chill of love gone and lost forever. I can feel the angst in this piece, good write.
Take care - Dave

some around here in Southern Illinois aren't familiar with real cold...up by Chicago when i lived there...that was cold...the lake winds...and in NY we were pretty cold there too...

love often goes from tropical heat to a winter vortex with artic winds, turning everything it touches into icy blocks.... but then, lost love doesn't really need a northern wind to leave frostbitten hearts
the analogy of the north wind should be on a giant billboard above all the divorce courts in America. It is not the design of the court system to mitigate tribalism. Love can change very quickly into something that resembles hatred, yet it never is really hatred, no more than the cat "hates" when the mouse enters the bedroom. I think the bible says that if a man finds a wife he finds a good thing? And I guess the writers of this passage had the frankable subtlety and the advantage of writing that 2000 years ago. If it's instinct to love it is also instinct to fall out of love....Great analogy...dana

As for this relationship, all roads to love seem dangerously iced and heavily snow-laden.
Come Spring thaw, both will have forgotten the way.
Amazingly portrayed, Jacob!
We know the feeling of this poem in Michigan. 0 degree plus the wind factor. Good day to stay in the house. Thank you Jacob for sharing the amazing poetry and your thoughts.
