I was listening to some old Phili soul music....Stylistics, The Moments, The Delfonics….and it took me back to a time when love songs were about "real" love and emotions. And all it took was the first two bars of the song..or just the musical intro and I was there again. You're still great at this short poem format....As for me, new year same inadequacies... great poem...dana

love those groups...and all of motown, it's the best music ever made.
Music has always been playing in the background it seems. What would Vietnam have been without Creedence. I think two things can produce a memory very quickly, a snippet of a song or a scent that carries us back. hate to say it, but for me it's always been Patchouli and the Beatles...although Tom Rush would be right up there.
Good that love can still be found.

use to do a little music and have a BA in it ... like an artist will use a inconsequential spot of red or white to draw attention in an almost sub-conscious way ... arrangements will use the tiny tinkle of a triangle...or the shake of a gourd etc. to add interest ;) sure enjoyed this minimalist's tapestry sir ... stunning L3 says i ... so many memories flood me noodle and heart ... use to be in ideal love .... more times than intelligent people would like to recall ;} such comfort when one is found ... great stuff sir! that's what i say :)

Don't know about America. But in Britain in years gone by you would pass record shops that were playing the latest hits. Fast forward and those tunes have taken you on your lives journey. Angie, by the Stones does it for me.
Great concept. It reminds me of a poem I wrote some time ago concerning hearing cello music on the radio and feeling concern for my daughter's sadness in her life.
This in its simplicity is very profound.
All the best. Perhaps we could be friends? We are apparently of the same generation.
