snowmen and wonder lust

snowmen and wonder lust

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

snowmen and wonder lust

interludes of you,

white snow

in little flakes on a corrupt dresser

straws for drinking in the mirage

top of the world delights

make for violent ends

when the drink spills out of reality's cup

and she loses the handle on it

coaster hearts bleed in the end

the red somnambulist slips on iced misgivings

he loves her blind

yet,

she only longs for another

sniff of winter.

Relationships are rarely equal -- one side nearly always more devoted than the other --

dear Jacob... “straws for drinking in the mirage...”. if we remember back to grade school and high school... all the tears because we had a crush on someone. I would go home and cry. But that is the way we are made... for love and affection. Now I smile and remember. truly, Pat

Nicely done....even if we love blindly.....what's the use when in the end they walk away as if there was nothing to start with.....

Oh yeah, I've got enough in my background to recognize this. I see and have seen people destroy themselves or watch loved ones do it to themselves. The picture, in the end, is never a happy one.

'out of reality's cup' ...and aren't we the ones too careless that it spills all over?...
Nice metaphors, as always, Jacob.

what goes up has to come down eventually and sometimes it gets broken or bruised in the process.

I love the metaphor of snow Jacob, and it does melt losing its beauty...
