Love with a warning is very tempting ..the desire of taking the chance at letting go ..and feeling excitment..the longing .crazy ..yes...but oh so worth it..nice work Jacob..
after not reading poetry (or writing much of it) for at least a few months I find myself trying to find your words. Is this fandom? Aesthetic isolation? An attitude, like a mother who has to buy her son the gymshoes the other kids wear? But again I want to find something, something that lets me live again, this is, in poetry-time I mean some gift-of-life-sideways-maneuvering where words alone can save this slippery world around us by opening an erstwhile closed door. now that's crazy longing my friend....dana

you will write soon and often...and your muse always brings such joy to others when you write. .. read moreyou will write soon and often...and your muse always brings such joy to others when you write.

love the 2nd last 2 verses the most
you are so wonderful at metaphors and descriptives and leaving the reader to decipher and really think about what you write, its wonderful
“you are a warning i fail to heed”- this is a very meaningful and resonant line for me dear j. These words and the way they speak to taking another chance on love and life, are so inspirational and uplifting. Sensual, celebratory, ardent poem. Beautifully written. I’ll choose love over sanity any day!

A song can mean so much. It can magically transport the listener to a better place....and time. There is no sanity when it comes to longing, is there? I liked this one a lot. Lydi**
I am picturing you listening to a beautiful songstress and you, eyes closed, allowing your imagination to carry you away to place visited less frequently but enjoyed greatly.
