Bare Trees from Autumn Lips

Bare Trees from Autumn Lips

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

Bare Trees from Autumn Lips

as certainly uncertain as changes

in the wind,

oblique obstinacy

tough guy attitude in fetal position

pregnant pauses in wordy forum

breech the caromed reflexes of loose canons

trying to take back evidence already exposed

and collected, too late to get a refund of expression

it's all been said and forensics is recapitulating

as the infant tact is forced in caesarian dilemma

to dispatch itself in slight gale

born again reactions

eyes bombard him with coaxing filaments

he's lost this war,

but happily surrenders

as a calm within him is finally born and

investigative findings allow the words

to break from an umbilical cord

of naked verbatim.

the naked truth falls from our lips eventually and we accept what is, and sometimes that means we accept that it's never the same twice even if the formula is the same

I sort of see this as saying that we sometimes just need to roll with it...

sometimes, for sure...thank you, Ana.

"as certainly uncertain as changes in the wind" we can never know what lies ahead and even when we think we have learned a lesson, we often repeat mistakes. Your choice of vocabulary in this one is interesting...lots of words leading me to believe we recreate ourselves and end up being the same person we were to begin with. Jacob, reading you is always thought provoking and never boring. Lydi**

If only we could go back in a time to recorrect past mistakes this time , comes to mind, in a field of political drama.

challenging read for me...first 6 Ls are tricky contrasts to grasp quickly ... i am reading this one over .. and taking a line at a time ... so your poem has caught my attention ... the next 6 Ls are very enigmatic ...hints of recent political events ... a Christians "born again" ... i'm lost in your closing this morning sir ... going to have to revisit ... but perhaps the enigma is what it is all about anyway .. deliberate word choices .. no rhythm or rhyme needed .. content is expansive ... reading captivated my intellect .. lots of "favorite" lines and phrases

Multi layered this one Jacob. My thoughts travelling in many directions. Some interesting word choice.

would love to know some of the directions...thank you, Chris.

This is fraught with alternate meanings. The barrenness of the Fall landscape countered with the feeling of the bereft and vulnerable among even the seemingly toughest is starkly laid out for the reader.

dear Jacob... I have come to realize that there is good and evil in this world and there are times we can hel under dire circumstances. It will never be easy because people will always question our motives. But when evil starts winning... we can only pray for them ... and to
pray for a better day as the world unfolds. truly, Pat

So does this mean I can climb in your satchel and go to school with you...learning the naked truth of a real writer?
