This poem is so great j. I can imagine it in spoken word with its flow, cadence and effective use of repetition- much like Dr. Seuss. Poetry as a sports activity is such a unique and clever idea. Love “poetry slam” to describe Writer’s Block. Stellar metaphor throughout. Three strikes- I’m out!
Jacob my Man, Green Eggs and Ham! We should be as lucky as the good Doctor and have as much fun in the process .
It's been a long time, life, hurricanes and no Internet for a long time here in Puerto Rico have been partially to blame. I cop to the rest. I'm very glad to see you here, made my morning. When one gets back on track , he feels it. As do I. Loved your poem, as I always do. Take care, and be well.

This is so different in style and content compared to what I have read so far on this site. You've written seemingly simple lines but which could have deeper implications. One interpretation is the nature of the intellectual community to see themselves as an interpretative community as Stephen Fish would argue. Sealing themselves off as the hoity-toity from the 'hoipolloi', the poetry slam with its door sealed shut tightly could be an allegory to the nature of its insularity. How simple things are conveyed as dense and terse formulations just to sound unintelligible to the masses, is what much of the academe prides itself as. The title is perfection. This set out many thoughts.
Priceless.
Best,

I always surprised how talented all these people in writing, movies, other jobs etc. Talents are blessings in general. Cat in the Hat never bored any one that is what called real talent. Great way of throwing of lights in to facts. Really liked this writing.

I love Hemingway because there is always more than meets the eye, and yet he gives us just enough, not too much.
