A Dozen or so thoughts Written in Ursa Major

i could be drifting with you

up on a roof--- close to the stars

as we can get without fading out ourselves

the heat of the sun in our hearts

but simmering beneath a full moon

hand in hand

lips slightly brushing against cumulus thoughts

tying together our sky in one bouquet

the scent lingers

as we walk toward calliope's corner

glad to be directionless in our diction

knowing love will be our compass

no matter how dark the firmament feels

when the roses close---

I'm entranced by "Neville"s" comment below. He pretty much says it for me. It's obvious that though you've always been good, writing so many poems has strengthened your voice.
I agree that I would love to have somebody special write a love poem like this for me.

I am smiling with envy here jacob... these words of yours will surely appeal to anyone who reads them ... Indeed, to both sexes equally, since it might have been written for anyone, any one that is, who is loved, or who has been loved, or knows love.... I hope someone might write a love poem like this for me.. and that I can write one half as good one day, just for my personal satisfaction of course, and... the sake of poetry.. Good on ya sir..... Not at all sir, you are most welcome & tis my pleasure entirely..... Neville
Reflecting upon each beautiful line, a thought, a realisation is driven home, softly yet completely....love is best left drifting directionless, no compass, no pointers, no maps to chart it’s course. Just the stars to govern its fate, for its all written in the Heavens anyway.

Thank you for the inspiration always, Mr. Jacob!

Always inspired by your words! You’re most welcome.
Breathless does this leave you- true love will always be the compass- unuttered words speaking a thousand words and emotions to be felt on the softness if touch- beautiful as always🌹
