untended inflections

untended inflections

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

untended inflections

violins play sad semantics

on taut heart strings

wooden feelings misjudge

cryptic notes

i think of you in the song

your fingers moving across my skin

as if to play certain chords of understanding

yet i am lost

as i listen to the vacuous echoes

the brazen bow touching vainly

the perpetrator of sound

chills my insides

as if it were rubbing against

grammatical bone.

my pleasure, as always.. N
A violin without doubt can capture melancholy and can pluck at those heart strings. The bow has the ability to sink you. Mendlesson's violin concerto can reduce me to tears every time. It takes me home. Thank you Jacob for the music in your words.
