reflections of reflections of reflections

lonely
is a cup of tea
without leaves
an imminent autumn
without love
to sip from another's cup
of smiles

lonely
is a cup of me
without you
an imminent autumn
without a too long, Oolong moment
to share a kiss from another's lips
to taste of those departed smiles.

This is one of the most alluringly playful romantic writes I've ever seen from you! I love it! The tangle of autumn, tea, & longing is purely delicious! "Imminent autumn" wins the best phrase award for the month! You paint a tantalizing scene (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

Those reflections of lifetime memories can be so deceiving...I reach out to touch you,,,but alas my touch is barricaded by the flection itself just like autumn blows back the leaves from the trees. Life is left crunchy becoming barren until spring rolls around again with new hope and a promise of light reflection. They say kissing daily keeps people healthier. I ve missed out on too many years.lol

I love the rhythm within this, Jacob. I also like the similes/smiles conclusions of each stanza. Nice work.

I like this poem- melancholy but beautiful. You use the cup of tea imagery very well throughout. I particularly like these lines-
"an imminent autumn
without love
to sip from another's cup
of smiles"

Well done!
