A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

silent movie

lip reading your soft parchment
i run my fingers along your edges
typeset imprints like tiny freckles
cover your page with my adoration

we are poems in transition
revisions eternal
never an end punctuation
just more perusal
of what's in our hearts

we are theme
we are dream
we ride in the carriage
of an old Underwood
stressed and unstressed vowels
who made a vow

to write upon each other's
stationery core
the stationary love

we memorize with rote reasoning
even when we know our hearts' script
can be remembered

without words.

Wonderful metaphor playing on the silver screen this evening. I almost hear Beethoven, rocking the ivory in the orchestra pit.

This one says so much about our "times" and us (our selves) as we are now.
