A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

silent movie

lip reading your soft parchment
i run my fingers along your edges
typeset imprints like tiny freckles
cover your page with my adoration

we are poems in transition
revisions eternal
never an end punctuation
just more perusal
of what's in our hearts

we are theme
we are dream
we ride in the carriage
of an old Underwood
stressed and unstressed vowels
who made a vow

to write upon each other's
stationery core
the stationary love

we memorize with rote reasoning
even when we know our hearts' script
can be remembered

without words.

"We ride in the carriage
of an old Underwood."

Now that's a vintage ride!
Fiendishly clever in both word-play and concept.
THE END.

I love this. Whenever a person truly loves writing, and uses those terms and images to describe love, it is magical

Great play on words with "stationary" and "stationery". Indeed, the heart needs no words and sometimes words of love seem cliche. Your poetry, though, Jacob, often leaves me with a smile. You are so clever. Lydi**

I think your work is great somewhere between the beat poets and the romantics
And I particularly like this poem.

Words aren’t needed when we feel with the heart- each vowel each pause each letter making us complete without speaking the words out loud- oh what a beautiful poem full of love emotion - I feel the touch within tender words- just beautiful from a beautiful tender loving heart🌹

Always pleasure- pleasure reading beautiful words🌹
dear Jacob... I learned to type on an Old Underwood... loved the sound of swinging the Carriage. There was a rhythm and song to printing your words. I learned to love and live by reading and writing poetry and still find the Letters in the same position on our new innovated I- phones... and can even attach photos and music. truly, Pat
